Yes you can make a place as such but remember to leave signs stating what it is.

In addition to what Sandy said, if you do not make it explicit that this is a place where they can get trapped, and someone dies there, there will be administrative punishments.

Remember to tell them to store their stuff. Cuz if they just die its fine but if they lose your stuff. ^

You should also put a warning that they might lose their experience points.
