@Mersumies Not really. Granted, my friend from Taiwan only needed like 2 years from when she moved here to start speaking fluent english and then proceeded to get into honors english and then AP english, but it isn't easy for adults who have only spoken one language for 20+ years.

ESL is an english class in my school. It doesn't mean every person who speaks english as a second language. It's just the ones who are still learning it.
