The top two characteristics a member of staff should have are:

Responsibility
A moderator's job is to ensure that the server is running smoothly, they have the responsibility of punishing and helping players while keeping up general admin tasks such as approving apps. If a Moderator does not have the responsibility to do his job correctly, then they are not fit to be one.
Helpfulness
It is part of a moderators job to help new players and older players alike, it'll help boost their general outlook of the server and their enjoyment of the server if there is always someone at hand to help them and guide them.

Why would you like to be a Moderator?:
I would like to be a moderator to help the server community by upholding the rules by punishing those who break the rules and helping players on the server and to help this server grow into the great server I know it is capable of. I have had some experience as a moderator on forums and Minecraft servers and I know my way around server commands and the forums which should allow me to take up the mantle of moderator without having to learn too much.

PS: Apologies for messing around with the format and stuff. Just wanted to try out some coding. OTL
