Currently the limit on money is $25,000 This seems absurdly low. In a game where there isn't much in the way of "winning" it's cool to have something that promotes commerce and a sort of "score keeping" for people who would care about that kinda thing. The best part about minecraft is that everyone can do their own thing, so why hinder that with a low money limit? Just a thought, and I hope others will post if they agree.

If you watched the rest of the forum. Hellraiser has an spawned item shop. People can buy stuff there for low prices and sell them for high.
I know that Minecraft is a bit of your own thing. But a server isn't
The thing is that people might be unfair and go over the current limit.
That's why.
Are you over 25.000? Then you must have sold ALOT of items.
Trust me, if you are a legit player you won't even reach the 25.000.

I'm not yet, but I believe it can be reached relatively quickly(weeks). If hellraiser was cheating that's something else entirely, he should be banned or demoted(if that's what was going on).
I'm curious, how would it be "unfair" to go over the limit?
A legit player wouldn't be able to get over 5,000. Anyone with 25,000 has been either griefing, getting spawned items, or cheating.

roundar wrote:How can you possibly believe that? First of all, let me break down basic mathematics, as it seems the school systems have failed some of the people here.(I realize I just got on the bad side of you, but I refuse to let ignorance go unanswered.)
If I mine casually every day for a month, only keeping the resources I absolutely have to have and selling the rest, I will easily have reached 25,000. Remember, there's nothing to drain my money supply, so it's a matter of simple addition. Now consider another possibility, not every 11 year old playing this game has a keen grasp on economics. A cursory look at the various shops will prove this, as some people are selling items for less than they can be sold to other players. If anyone were to seize these opportunities, buy those players out, and sell the items at normal prices, we have ,yet again, produced large sums of money.
All this said, the reality is that certain players must be cheating. I went to Brandon's shop today to find that he was selling diamonds for 200 dollars a piece. I bought about 10 before I ran my money dry and he still had more. He's been selling them discounted for a while, and bragging that he could build a house with them. So as long as that is allowed, I agree the money limit is irrelevant.
And again, selling them at 200 is not allowed, because it ruins the economy. Brandon also got those diamonds from WhatTheBrown, because he spawned a lot of diamond for him. So in turn, you'd pretty much be poor without all of the spawned items that have been given out to players.

People also tend to find ways to use x-ray.
Normal mining would still take forever to get rich.

Rasiing the Money limit
That would be nice i can't really do much with the money limit at the current time, it should be raised to 50k, that would be good.

Heather Xray is also banned because i tried using it the other day and It does not work even though I am a mod i still tested it and xray is blocked so most of the money is legit unless spawned

Re: Up the money limit?
How are you guys already at the money limit?! I own an expensive hotel, a food shop, I have been here since the new map first got into effect, and I'm fairly active yet I barely have $1300 0_o Maybe I just suck at iconomy, but last time I checked, the only people with that kind of money are people who got spawned items, or exploited chestshop somehow.

Re: Up the money limit?
Herkey, there are some other ways you can get x-ray to work.
Also, the economy is messed up because of some players, so nobody technically has legit 25k.
